Biographical notes on John Parrott, businessman and United States Consul at Mazatlán from 1837-1846 and 1848-1850. Appended are extracts from several letters in 1846 regarding the war between the United States and Mexico, presumably by James R. Bolton, later Vice Consul at Mazatlán, to Parrott, Commodore John D. Sloat, and others.
